Satori was founded on the principle that martial arts are for everyone, and everyone is capable of great power. Self defense is not a sport, but a fact of effectiveness. We focus on what works, regardless of size and strength.
Who We Are
Arlo started his martial arts training in 1992 in Shotokan Karate. Since then, he has trained in Kokoro Shorin Ryu Karate, Hapkido, Aikido, Eagle Claw King Fu, Kung Fu San Soo, Japanese Jujitsu, Chi Gong, Kali, Arnis, Escrima, Jeet Kune Do, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Tai Chi Chuan, Brazilian Jujitsu, Silat, Shoot Wrestling, Wing Tzun, and Chin Na to name a few.
He instructed the Indiana University Hapkido/Self Defense club from 2003-2012, taught Martial Art Academic classes 2004-2021, and started Satori - Integrated Martial Arts in 2015. He has also taught seminars and classes at UCLA, Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts and many United States Hapkido Federation and Global Hapkido Association seminars.
Arlo holds the rank of 6th Degree black belt with the Global Hapkido Association, full instructor in Jeet Kune Do, Kali, and Full Instructor in Larry Hartsell’s Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association. Arlo also holds rank in TKD, Karate (Shotokan & Shorin Ryu), and Pekiti Tirsia Kali.
